The Master and Margarita of the 21st Century

Sabahudin Hadžialić

Sabahudin Hadžialić (°1960) was born in Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Hadžialić is a freelance writer and journalist. He is also editor of the online magazines Diogenes and MaxMinus.

His poem The Master and Margarita of the 21st Century was first published on September 30, 2009 in the newspaper Вечернье Новости [Vechernye Novosti] from Belgrade, Serbia. End of May 2012, it was published in English by the Għaqda Poeti Maltin (the Maltese Poets Association) in its magazine Versi. The translation was made by Anya Reich.

sopstvene sujete
ispunjava
istkane pore
mojih sunovrata.

All aboard!
uzvikuje
crni mačak
dok tramvaj zvani čežnja
presijeca glavu
nedoraslog lika.

Prekratko sam živio
da bih shvatio
kako
ni živio nisam!
