Viktor Yefimenko
Personally, I'm not such a huge fan of the etchings made by the Ukrainian artist Viktor Yefimenko (10/02/1933-12/07/1994), but many Russians consider him as one of the best illustrators of The Master and Margarita.
Viktor Yefimenko studied at the Ivan Fyodorov Polygrafic Institute in Lviv, Ukraine. Later he became a teacher of drawing and etching at the Faculty for Arts and Graphics at the K.D. Ushinsky Pedagogic University in his hometown Odessa.
From 1978 to 1992, Yefimenko made a series of 64 etchings with illustrations of The Master and Margarita. In 2007, his son Vladimir Yefimenko published an album with reproductions of those works. The album is no longer available for sale, but prints of the original etchings can still be ordered directly from Vladimir Yefimenko.
