Shukhrat Khalilovich Khusaynov (° Tashkent, 26/02/1967) only started to learn Russian when he was six years old. He first studied at the Chirchik Medical School (Uzbekistan), and then at the Samarkand Medical Institute. At that time he began writing songs, and in 1988 he gave his first public appearance in Samarkand.
One year later, in 1989, Shukhrat Khusaynov got awarded at the Grushin Festival and he began to gain national fame. He could even make several tours in Germany and Israel. Khusaynov now lives in Ryazan, not far from Moscow.
Shukhrat Khusaynov wrote over 400 songs. In 1998 he published his first poetry album Along the Hand Lines.
His song Сердце Мастера (Serdtse Mastera) or The Heart of the Master dates from 1996, and in 1998 it became the title track of a CD. In that song Khusaynov describes the mood of the master after Woland had retrieved him from the mental institution.
