Complicite
The British theatre company Complicite was founded in 1983 by Simon McBurney, Annabel Arden and Marcello Magni. The original name of the company was Théâtre de Complicité. Nowadays, Complicite is currently more active as an international touring company than within the UK.
In 2010, they made a remarkable stage adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov's A Dog's Heart in De Nederlandse opera in Amsterdam (the Netherlands).
2012 will be the year of The Master and Margarita. The play, directed by Simon McBurney, has been co-produced by renowned theaters and festivals such as the Barbican Theatre (London), Les Théâtres de la Ville (Luxembourg), the Festival de Otoño en Primavera (Madrid), the Wiener Festwochen (Vienna), the Ruhrfestspiele (Recklinghausen) and the Festival d’Avignon (France), in association with the Theatre Royal in Plymouth (UK).
A complete overview of the past and planned representations can be found in our theatre adaptations repertory.
