The French journalist, writer, producer and television presenter Olivier Barrot is the presenter of the program 1 Livre par jour or 1 Book A Day on La Une, the first French television channel. On December 12, 1993, he talked about La parole ressuscitée, the French translation of Slaves of Freedom by Vitaly Shentalinsky.
He calls the book, contradictorily enough, a tribute to the power of literature. «Contradictorily», because the book deals with covert action against authors of the KGB in the Soviet Union, but the author was allowed to consult the KGB archives in connection with Russian writers.
