Arina Gheorgita
Arina Gheorghita (° 1973) is an artist from Romania, born in Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania. She’s got artistic roots, as the daughter of painter Vasile Gheorghita (° 1943) and wri-ter Mariana Bojan (° 1947). She graduated from the Lyceum of Fine Arts Romulus La-dea in 1991 and the Academy of Fine Arts Ion Andreescu in 1997. After graduation she worked as a book illustrator at the Cartimpex Publishing House in Cluj. Later she was a graphic designer, and a teacher of painting and art history. Now she lives in Bucarest as a professional artist.
In November 2008, Arina Gheorghita finished a series of 25 illustrations of The Master and Margarita, her favourite book.
Years ago, Arina's father, Vasile Gheorghita, illustrated The Master and Margarita already. Unfortunately, only three of his illustrations survived. You can find them at the bottom of this page.
