Rinat Timerkaev
The Russian film animator Rinat Timerkaev (°1984) was born in Michaylovsk, a village southwest of Yekaterinburg. He now lives in Moscow and works as a production manager in the studio 3D Media Group.
Timerkaev started to prepare a long animated version of The Master and Margarita together with some other people. While the project was still at a very early stage, the release was announced for the year 2012. On his blog, Timerkaev informed his followers on the progress of the project, showing a nice teaser, various test rushes, a poster and many backgrounds he would use. However, it became increasingly clear that the funding would be a problem.
On December 2015, the film maker informed his readers that he decided to stop trying: «Бизнес по-российски, блин!» or «Business in the Russian way, damn it,» he wrote.
So it is clear now that the film will never be released, but we managed to save some of the material produced for it, and we thought it would be interesting to keep it available on this website.
